I have found throughout my own 4 births and my clients’ births that breathing is so important to managing the contractions. When I did not get a good deep breath before the contraction began, I found myself feeling a more intense contraction. But when I did get a good deep breath, I felt in control and the contraction was much more manageable.
I encourage every woman who is in labor to focus on their breathing and make sure they are getting good breaths. It is good for you and for your baby. So the next time you have any pain or discomfort in your body, try taking slow, deep breaths and see the oxygen difference. It has worked for me and many others. Give it a try. You need oxygen so it can’t hurt!
