I get so frustrated when possible clients think that the hospital staff will provide everything they need in support. I know I have never seen a nurse, ob or midwife stay in the room for hours. They need to come and go because they have plenty of things to do(they are overworked). I wish folks would realize why there are doulas in the first place. We help fill in the spaces and are devoted to just that patient. Together with medical staff we complete the team of care to help make it the best experience.
